Before the arrival of Europeans in the Americas, what views did Native Americans have of sex?
And marriage? And homosexuality? And sodomy? Were white men's beliefs universal, or did Native Americans have their own ideas and social rules about this stuff?

generally speaking sex was seen as a good and natural thing needed to bring forth future generations. marriage was a commitment between two people. it has nothing to do with sex and was not seen as a pre requisite to sex.
homosexuals were not considered "special" nor were they shunned. the whole idea that they were treated as super spiritual was made up by the modern gay community. its simply not true. they were treated like everyone else. it simlpy isn't our business and neither is sodomy or any other sex act two consentual adults engage in.
when the pilgrims arrived they brought their puritan beliefs which made anything remotely sexual a "sin". take a trip some day to plymouth plantation in massachusetts some day. the people who work there sstay in character and speak and think as the person they are portraying. these are people who do a great deal of research to make your experience as authentic as possible. you will hear them say that bathing is sinful because you must take your clothes off. laying down to sleep is like being an animal so they slept in a propped up position. a woman's breasts are sinful because of what men feel while looking at them...etc etc.
many of those attitudes are still present in america which is why people here are so hung up on sex. they saw us natives as terribly sinful because we didn't have these same hangups.
