shoes for standing/walking on concrete all day?

I work in retail and I am standing or walking on a poured concrete floor up to 10 hours a day. We have rubber mats at the cash register and in other places where you stand for an amount of time, but a lot of time is spent folding at tables where you can't just drag a mat to. I've tried croc's and new balance. running shoes, flip flops [which actually end up hurting the least] and a ton of other shoes. I can get up in the morning and go jogging just fine, go for long walks outside of work, walk around the city, but its standing on the concrete all day that hurts my feet so much. Even a 5 hours shift i come home barely being able to walk. My arches hurt the worst between the middle of the arch and my heel. Any good shoe selections under $100. I used to have some shoes-for-crews ones but they were hideous and i wear skirts and dresses a lot, so they'd have to be fashionable. and not leather.. because leather is icky ! haha Thanks!

I don't know if you have tried nursing shoes or not, but Nurses are always on their feet. Must be something in them that really helps. But you might first want to try the gel or air inserts for your best shoe you have now and see if they help. Also when standing long periods, lift your feet with your toes, like up and down to strengthen the arches while at the same time, stretching the entire bottom of your feet. If you are a little over weight, that doesn't help matters much, so if you are, try loosing a few pounds. I wish I could tell you some miracle cure for your problem, just remember, a lot of people have that same thing, even me. I am sure those tables that you are talking about where a lot of standing time folding, if a request is made to management, they might invest in some smaller mats, that can be easily placed there instead of the ones 6 to 8 feet long. They come in a lot of lengths, and maybe a male friend/worker will drag one to your table for you, while waiting to see if you can get smaller ones, which maybe they already have.
