Drop handlebars) flat (bicycle?
Hiya I'm thinking of buying a road bike and I do not want to be my first bike ever, but this will be my first road bike and I do not know to go remove the handlebar or flat (not sure what they are called)
You nailed ... flat bars or some call a "performance hybrid." I have arthritis in the lower back, so I opted for a hybrid performance for the sitting position. But I can tell you, if I had a choice - I'd go with the typical "down" style handlebar on a road bike. On a pure road bike, you will have more choice in the hand position. You can disable from a couple of different positions. On my hybrid performance, it is essentially a position all the time. Your hands tend to start cramping up and there is no other place to go with them. hybrid performance can be a bit of $ $ $ less, but a pure race bike is the way forward.
