Expandable Computer
I have an NVidia GeForce 8500 GT (PCI) installed in my computer. What would be a better upgrade?
I have a Quad Core 2.40 GHz 3 GB of RAM expandable to 8 GB of storage and 640 and I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit
I suggest a 8800GT over a 9500GT daily .. You need to upgrade your diet slightly. The 8500GT is a lower end 8 series, and power use is not working well. For a real performance, you'll need a better supply of energy as well. Unless you already have a 450W PSU with 30A + 12V .. you will need to consider an upgrade. Round 9 by nvidia was very similar to the series 8. In the reference 8600GT = 9600GT, 8800GT = 9800GT. They are slightly behind in performance and features, but why upgrade to the improvement of 5-10%? Maybe even 0% ... depends on the game. 8800 are hard to find lately, but more for his money for a 9800GT. If you try to stay around the price range of $ 100 I'll try to find one.
