How would you define the brands Ben Sherman, and Fred Perry?
I know a lot of boys that dress in a joy divisionesque sort of way, big on fred perry and ben sherman. Would i call this mod? Don't know how to define the style.
fred perry and ben sherman are british brands. they don't focus on a particular niche market, anyone from a banker, engineer to a stage performer wears the stuff. its like saying that there's a difference between an oxford from the gap and one from american eagle. for the most part, they dressed like well kept blue collar workers. joy division was never really about a particular image.
however, bs/fp are major players in the british mod scene. today, they've gotten more conservative in their designs almost like a banana republic
