My notebook is 10.1 inches with 6 cell battery
When you say 10.1, do you mean 10 1/16 inches? Anyway, your Notebook is definitely bigger than the sleeve, BUT with just a difference of 1/16, I believe that it will fit - it is just too tight, if the dimension of the sleeve is exact and if the material is not stretchable...
