Skate Pants
Skating skirts vs skating pants?
I have been skating for close to four years and I have always worn a skirt/dress and now my sister is asking "why don't you wear pants? The serious skaters do." I am a semi-serious skater (I skate 4 to 5 times a week. Are pants a sign of a more serious skater? Which is better?
I've seen skaters (both serious and non serious) wear everything: pants, skirts, dresses, and shorts (though I really don't get the shorts thing.
) It really doesn't matter. It's just what you're comfortable with. If you find skirts more comfy, wear them. If pants are more comfy, wear them. Personally, I wear pants-- they're warmer and I feel less exposed.
Pants are by no means a sign of a more serious skater. However, you might notice that a lot of younger and newer skaters skate with dresses on. This is where some people might get the idea that pants are a sign of a more serious skater (You know, little kids are so obsessed with the shiny dresses it's the only real reason they want to skate.) But if your skating is serious, it shouldn't matter what you wear. Besides, who cares if you're a more serious skater or not? It's all fun! ![]()
I hope this helps!
