Caterpillar Bag Black
Wednesday, September 7th, 2011I need help identifying a bug?
My girlfriend came into the bathroom telling me that there was a bug on her sweatshirt.
I put it in a bag and am trying to figure out what it is and I am having trouble figuring it out. If there are any websites you know that can help me identify this bug it would be appreciated. If you can identify for the bug it would be great too. I live in Baltimore County, Maryland. The bug is really small, about 3 or 4 millimeters long and about 2 millimeters wide. It has a white body that looks kinda ribbed. It has six legs that are closer to the head than to the rear. It moves kinda like a caterpillar and if you hold it up to the light you can tell it has very small hairs on its sides. The ends are the darkest part of the bug, maybe a brown or black color but it is hard to tell because it is so small. Any help is appreciated, Thanks.
You can try whatsthatbug.com. From your description, I'd say that it might be a teneral larva of a lady beetle, but that's only a wild guess. It's definitely not a bed bug.
