Is there any way to recover from a bad overdraft fee?
Long story short I have a minus account of about $1400 due to the fact that I was cashing some false travelers checks that I did not know were fake. (Lesson learned!) And know the bank wants me to pay them by next month and I can't pay all of it because I have rent and bills to pay. Any one been in this situation before? I could use some advice on what to do, I dont want to end up bad with the bank but at this moment I have no choice, I literally can't pay all of the money by next month. Is there like someone I can call? Or am I just plainly screwed???
I would talk to someone in the bank and see if they will give you some time to repair this really bad situation.
I don't know what the ramifications of the false travelers checks are, but I do know the bank is out $1400 and they want some assurance they are going to be paid.
If they can't give you any leeway, then I would suggest you'd better borrow from someone or someplace enough to cover the $ you owe the bank.
